Wave Certified Credential Services Agreement
Effective date: 2026-07-22
This Wave Certified Credential Services Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Wave Mobile Technologies ("Wave") and the individual applying for the Wave Certified credential ("you" or "Credential Holder").
1. What the credential is
Wave Certified is a standalone professional credentialing service. Your enrollment provides: identity verification, a background check processed in compliance with applicable law, a personal credential badge with a unique badge ID, a public verification page for that badge, and a listing in the Wave Certified directory while your credential is active.
The credential is a statement that you completed Wave's certification process and that your background check met Wave's certification standard as of the date shown on your badge. It is not a license, not a government credential, and not an endorsement of your work.
2. The credential is yours to share — Wave does not report to employers
You hold the credential. You decide who sees it and where you present it.
Wave does not send your background check report, its contents, or any certification decision to employers, platforms, or any other third party. The public verification page shows only your badge status, your name as you chose to display it, and the certification dates — never the contents of any background report. Any company that wants to rely on your credential does so based on the badge you chose to share with them, and any hiring or engagement decision they make is theirs alone, under their own legal obligations.
3. No guarantee of work with Wave or anyone else
You understand and agree: the Wave Certified credential does NOT guarantee work, income, leads, engagements, interviews, or hiring outcomes — with Wave, with any gig platform, or with any employer.
Certification is not an employment offer, not a job placement service, and not a promise that any company will accept, prefer, or act on your credential. Wave is not an employment agency. Enrolling does not create an employment, contractor, agency, partnership, or franchise relationship between you and Wave.
4. Background check
As part of certification, Wave will conduct or cause to be conducted a consumer report or investigative consumer report in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state and local laws. You authorize Wave and its third-party background check processors to obtain this report solely for the purpose of evaluating your eligibility for the Wave Certified credential.
The certification fee covers the cost of this processing and does not guarantee approval. If your certification is declined based on background check results, you will be provided the name and contact information of the consumer reporting agency used, a copy of your report, a summary of your FCRA rights, and an opportunity to dispute inaccurate information before final adverse action.
5. Fees, renewal, and refunds
The credential is billed as an annual subscription at the price shown on the enrollment page. The fee is all-inclusive — there is no separate background check charge. The portion of your fee attributable to background check processing is non-refundable once your check is submitted for processing, regardless of outcome. Otherwise, fees are refundable only as described in Wave's Refund Policy.
Your credential is valid for twelve (12) months from issuance. Renewal billing occurs annually and renewal requires a new background check at Wave's discretion; your badge shows its current validity dates at all times. You may cancel renewal at any time before it bills.
6. Accuracy and revocation
You agree to provide accurate identity information. Wave may suspend or revoke a credential obtained with false information, or when a renewal background check no longer meets the certification standard, following the adverse-action process described in Section 4 where applicable. Revoked or expired badges show that status on their verification page.
7. Privacy and data handling
Wave's Privacy Policy, available at waveride.ai/privacy, governs how your personal information is collected, used, and protected. Background report contents are retained only as required for certification decisions and legal compliance, and are never published.
8. Acknowledgment
By ticking the acknowledgment checkbox on the enrollment page and completing payment, you agree to be bound by this Agreement and confirm that you have read and understand Section 2 (you control who sees your credential; Wave does not report to employers) and Section 3 (no guarantee of work with Wave or any other company).
